Crowns:

A crown is a prosthetic tooth constructed with gold or porcelain. It covers a small ‘thimble’ of tooth that is shaped by the dentist. A fractured, weak tooth may need a crown. A tooth doesn’t need a root canal in order to have a crown placed, but a root canal tooth generally will need a crown.

What is a Crown?

Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, fully cup over the portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. Some of the reasons for crowns are: to restore a tooth to its original shape,to strengthen a tooth and to improve the cosmetic appearance of a tooth.
